Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) is Nepalโs only international airport, providing Visa on Arrival for tourists. Land entry points at border regions also offer this facility.
The On Arrival visa process is quick and simple, though queues may form during peak tourist seasons. To avoid waiting, you can obtain a visa from a Nepalese Diplomatic Mission before arrival. If issued abroad, you must enter Nepal within six months of the visaโs issuance. Your stay is counted from the day you enter Nepal.
– On Arrival, Visas are Tourist Visas with multiple re-entry options.
– If visiting for purposes other than tourism (e.g., trekking, mountaineering, visiting family), you must change the visa category at the Department of Immigration after arrival.
– Nationals from certain countries must obtain a visa before arrival (see below).
– Fill out the Arrival Card and Tourist Visa form (online at the Department of Immigration website or via kiosks at the airport).
– If filled out online, bring the printed submission receipt with the barcode (valid for 15 days).
– Pay the visa fee at the bank counter (15/30/90 days). Payment can be made in different modes, but carrying cash is recommended.
– Submit your documents (passport, online form, and payment receipt) at the Immigration Desk for visa processing.
Citizens of the following countries must obtain a visa before arrival from a Nepalese Embassy/Consulate. They are not eligible for Visa on Arrival without official approval from Nepalโs Ministry of Home Affairs:

2. Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia,
3. Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq,
