GARBAGE DEPOSIT FEE USD

At Adventure Fourteen Summit Pvt. Ltd., environmental protection is a top priority. As a responsible trekking and mountaineering company, we strictly follow the Nepal Government regulations on waste management in the Himalayas. Every expedition we operate is expected to leave the mountains cleaner, safer, and more sustainable for future generations.

Our team ensures that all waste generated during the trip is properly handled. Items that can be burned, destroyed, or recycled are processed at designated sites in front of authorised government representatives. Any non-burnable or non-recyclable waste must be transported back to Kathmandu by the expedition crew and officially handed over to the respective government department for proper disposal.

To support this regulation, climbing teams are required to deposit a refundable Garbage Management Fee, determined by the height and category of the mountain. This fee ensures responsible waste management and promotes clean climbing practices.

Garbage Deposit Fee Structure

For Expeditions in the Nepal Himalayas

These fees apply to mountains listed under the Government of Nepal’s garbage management regulations:

1. Mount Everest (8,848.86m)

USD 4,000 per permit (valid for up to 15 members)

The highest and busiest peak requires a higher deposit due to increased waste management responsibilities and strict environmental protocols.

2. Other Mountains Above 8,001m (Except Everest)

USD 3,000 per permit (valid for up to 15 members)

Peaks such as Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and others fall under this category.

3: Mountains Between 7,001m – 8,000m (Including Ama Dablam)

USD 2,000 per permit (valid for up to 15 members)

This includes popular mountains like Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Himlung, and the iconic Ama Dablam.

4: Mountains Between 6,501m – 7,000m

USD 1,000 per permit (valid for up to 15 members)

Covers mid-range Himalayan peaks requiring technical climbing and standard expedition logistics.

5: Mountains Below 6,500m

USD 500 per permit (valid for up to 15 members)

Ideal for trekking peaks and introductory climbs such as Island Peak, Lobuche East, and Mera Peak.

Applicable garbage deposit fees will follow the separate guidelines issued by the Government of Nepal.
