Lobuche, Pokalde & Island Peak
The Everest Three High Passes Trek combined with Lobuche, Pokalde & Island Peak climbing is one of the most rewarding and challenging adventures in the Himalayas. This trek-cum-climb experience is designed for avid trekkers and climbers who want to explore the Everest region beyond the standard EBC route while summiting iconic peaks along the way. It combines high-altitude trekking, crossing three major passes โ Renjo La (5,360 m), Cho La (5,420 m), and Kongma La (5,535 m) โ with the thrill of climbing Lobuche Peak (6,119 m), Pokalde Peak (5,806 m), and Island Peak (6,189 m). Along the journey, trekkers witness some of the most breathtaking panoramas of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse, making it a photographerโs and adventurerโs dream.
This trek offers a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and nature. Unlike the regular Everest Base Camp trek, the Three High Passes route takes you through less crowded trails and remote Sherpa villages such as Namche Bazaar, Thame, and Dingboche, offering authentic cultural experiences. You will have the opportunity to interact with local communities, learn about Sherpa traditions, and experience high-altitude life up close. The addition of climbing Lobuche, Pokalde, and Island Peak gives trekkers a chance to challenge themselves physically while gaining technical mountaineering experience under expert guidance. Itโs a journey that tests endurance, builds resilience, and rewards you with some of the most spectacular Himalayan views in the world.
The ideal time for this expedition is during the pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (late September to November) seasons. During these periods, the weather is generally stable, skies are clear, and mountain visibility is at its peak. The temperatures are moderate, allowing for a safer and more comfortable climbing and trekking experience. Monsoon and winter seasons are less favorable due to heavy snowfall, landslides, and extreme cold, which increase risk and reduce accessibility to high passes and peaks.
