East of the popular Annapurna Base Camp, this trek takes you through lush forests, alpine ridges, and panoramic viewpoints, showcasing the majestic Himalayas. Perfect for a 5โ€“7 day adventure, itโ€™s ideal for travelers who want breathtaking scenery in a short time.

Scenery & Culture

The trail winds through rhododendron forests, oak woodlands, and bamboo groves, gradually opening to high-altitude meadows and dramatic mountain landscapes. Trekkers are rewarded with stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Mardi Himal. Along the way, traditional Gurung and Magar villages offer cultural experiences, warm hospitality, and local cuisine. Spring brings vibrant blooms, while autumn provides clear skies and crystal mountain views.

Compared to other Annapurna treks, it is less crowded, offering a peaceful journey with simple teahouse accommodations.

Why Choose Mardi Himal Trek?

This trek combines natural beauty, cultural richness, and manageable adventure, making it a perfect Himalayan journey for travelers seeking tranquility and spectacular views.

Best Season for the Mardi Himal Trek

The Mardi Himal Trek is a hidden gem in Nepalโ€™s Annapurna region, offering breathtaking views and a serene trekking experience. Choosing the right season can make a huge difference in your journey. The best times to trek are during Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November).

Autumn

September to November

Autumn is the most popular trekking season. During this time, the weather is stable, skies are clear, and temperatures are mild. This provides excellent visibility of the snow-capped peaks, making it ideal for photography and enjoying panoramic mountain views. While autumn attracts more trekkers, the trails are still manageable, and the scenery is unforgettable.

Springย

March to May

Spring is another fantastic season for the Mardi Himal Trek. The landscape comes alive with blooming rhododendrons and colorful wildflowers. Temperatures are moderate, and skies are generally clear, offering stunning views of the Annapurna range. Spring sees fewer crowds than autumn, making it perfect for trekkers seeking a peaceful adventure.

Other Seasons

Monsoon : June to August

Heavy rainfall can make trails slippery and less enjoyable, and still possible to make the trek

Winter : December to February

Sometimes snowy trails and colder temperatures can be challenging, especially at higher altitudes.

Tip: Weather patterns can vary each year, so itโ€™s always wise to check forecasts and consult with Adventure Fourteen Summit for the latest trekking conditions.

Our path goes through a beautiful forest peppered with red rhododendrons. The blooms are widespread in the Nepalese highlands, so it’s no surprise that they’re the country’s national flower. Our path is rather peaceful until we arrive at a meadow near the forest camp. We may take a break and explore the region, also known as Kokar in Forest Camp.

MARDI HIMAL BASE CAMP TREK (4500M)

Not knowing as the “most popular” trekking route in the Himalayas, Mardi Himal has its own beauty.

Started from the bottom with the most scenic forest view, we trekked to the top, and sometimes had to applied mountaineering-related activities such as rope climbing, rock climbing with equipments.

As a beginner, I feel safe under the care of Temba and his team at Adventure 14 Summit. They are experienced, professional, caring and make sure no-one left behind. The higher we climb, the harder it gets. Not just an easy trekking trip but an experience of a lifetime, where we all face the same challenge: fatigue and fear. I recommend this trip if you are new to expedition, and want to get a taste of it. Respect to all the team members. They are strong, warm-hearted, and excellent cook! I’m forever grateful!
