Adventure Fourteen Summit company prepares for climbs of 8000-meter peaks, which require specialized technical gear to ensure safety, efficiency, and success. Here’s a list of essential technical climbing gear for such high-altitude expeditions:

 

A. Headwear

1. Hat/Cap: 1 pc โ€“ย Lightweight, with a wide brim for sun protection

2. Woolen Hat: 1 โ€“ pc (Wool or fleece for warmth at high altitudes)

3. Balaclava: 1 pc (thin and breathable for warmth and wind protection)

4. Buff/Scarf: 2 pairs (pairs To protect your neck from the sun or wind.)

5. Goggles: 1 pc (with UV protection for glare)

6. Glacier glasses: 1 pc (polarized, for sun protection or wind)

 

B. Clothing Layers (Upper Body)

1. Base Layer (Top): 2 pc (moisture-wicking, merino wool or synthetic)

2. Mid Layer (Insulating): 2 pc (fleece or down jacket for warmth)

3. Outer Layer (Shell): 1 pc (waterproof and windproof jacket)

4. Down Jacket: 1 pc (850+ fill power recommended)

 

C. Gloves:

1. Gloves (Inner): 2 pairs (lightweight, moisture-wicking for warmth)

2. Summit Gloves (Outer): 1 pair (waterproof, insulated gloves for summit attempts)

3. Rappelling gloves: 1 pc (gloves are designed to provide grip, protection, and comfort)

 

D. Clothing Layers (Lower Body)

1. Base Layer (Bottom): 2 pc (moisture-wicking, merino wool or synthetic)

2. Insulated Pants: 1 pc (for warmth at higher altitudes)

3. Climbing Pants: 2 pc (durable, flexible, and breathable)

4. Gore-tex: 1 pc (for protection in wet or snowy conditions)

5. Gore-tex pants: 1 pc (for protection in wet or snowy conditions)

6. Down pan: 1 pc (Down pants for staying warm in the evenings and mornings at Base Camp)

 

C. Footwear

1. Climbing bootsย layer insulated boots: 1 pair (e.g., La Sportiva Olympus Mons, Scarpa Phantom 8000)

2. Summit socks Thick and Insulated: 3 pairs (especially for summit pushes in high-altitude expeditions)

3. Socks (Insulated): 3 pairs (Wool or synthetic used during acclimatization rotations)

4. Down shoes/socks: 1 pair (use in the camp when resting, sleeping or during cold nights to keep your feet warm.

Designed for extreme cold, this full-body suit has 1200-fill-down insulation a wind- and water-resistant shell, strategic zippers, reinforced areas, and a helmet-compatible insulated hood.

 

F. Sleeping Bag and Mattress

1. Sleeping bag -20 ยฐC (15ยฐF): 1 pc (using at base camp).

2. Sleeping bag -40ยฐC (-40ยฐF): 1pc (8,000-meter peaks consider one rated at -40ยฐC (-40ยฐF).

3. Inflatable sleeping pad: 1 (Medium size, 4.8 L).

4. An ultralight foam backpacking mattress: 1 pc (Lightweight, easy to roll up, and provides good insulation)

 

G. Expedition Duffle Bag and Day Bag

1. Trekking Duffle bag (50L): 1 pc (We use it to include all the trekking equipment that we need during the trek before reaching Base Camp)

2. Expedition Duffle bag (70L): 1 pcย  (The duffle bag is used to pack all the climbing gear that we don’t need before reaching Base Camp)

3. Trekking & climbing day bag (40L): 1 pc (used for carrying essential items needed during the trek and climb, such as water, snacks, extra layers, and camera)
